A scene from the Scarlet pimpernel the musical, where they are singing a song called the riddle, about that they can't trust each other, The idea of doing the drawing in this way, is if it were ever gonna be a movie, they would kinda switch in to this dream place when they are singing that song, where they would be in these Karneval clothes, showing their true self, just imagine what an awesome movie scene it would be, perfect fot the chinema!

the clothes the big drawings of the characters are wearing are manly copies from the accual show, the other clothes is something i made up, i tried to make it so simple as possible, and still a little bit cool. and i payed no attention to the time period what so ever

their accual situation in this song is gonna be a bit complicated to eksplain, but I just try anyway from left to right
Sir Percival Blakeney a.k.a. The scarlet pimpernel, but he is just called Percy, he is consideret to be a fop, but he really uses his spare time saving innocent French aristocrats from the Guillotine, the only people who knows he is doing so, is his small league of men. Marguerite Blakeney, the wife of sir Percy, at their wedding evening Percy found out that she had been responsible for sending some of his best freinds, and intere family, to the guillotine, there fore he can no longer trust her, and have become distant, and that have become a constant pain to her. one eksample, he send her alone to bed at their wedding night, and began to act very foppish and foolish in front of her, the man to the right citiesen Chauvelin, he is one of those who is giving the orders to put people in the guillotine, he have been given the task to capture the scarlet pimpernel, on top of that, he is the former lover of Marguerite, and he were the one who tricked her to send the people Percy knew to the Guillotine. and now he is black mailing her, if she do not coorperate, he will send her brother to the guilotine, and she do not dare to come to Percy with her problems, because of his distance to her.

So you see, their situation in this song really is a mess and one great Riddle......

and if someone don't know what a guillotine is... it's a tool used to cut peoples heads of, used to executed over a thousend aristocrats, or poeple who were somehow associated with aristocrats or consideret enemy of the republic, doing the french revolution.

oh and i just noticed now, and it kinda bugs me, so just so you know, i made allot of shading on this one, and for some reason allot of it have dissapered when I posted it, Margurite white dress for an eksample, i is shaded on the original drawing on my computer I tell you, and I have noticied on allot of drawings now, and it also does it on this one, the coloring for some reason looks weird when i post it here, it looks different when I just look at the drawings on my computer, instead of thru this site....
